Finance Minister Calls for Timely Implementation of NEV Policy 2025-30

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the urgent need for the timely development and implementation of Pakistan’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Policy 2025-30 to drive the country’s transition to clean energy in the transport sector.

Chairing a high-level meeting, the minister highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to achieve the policy’s ambitious targets, aligning them with Pakistan’s environmental and economic priorities.

The Industries and Production Secretary presented a comprehensive overview of the current state of the EV industry, focusing on key challenges such as infrastructure gaps, supply chain issues, and barriers to production and adoption. Policy interventions were proposed to address these challenges and streamline the transition to NEVs.

Discussions underscored the need to improve manufacturing processes, attract private sector investment, and make necessary policy adjustments to enhance the growth of Pakistan’s EV ecosystem.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to accelerate efforts for the successful implementation of the NEV Policy, setting the stage for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable transport future in Pakistan.
